L U P A
Kristine Aguilar is the hands behind LUPA Ceramics. Born in Manila, Philippines, lupa is a Tagalog word that means earth/land/soil/country and connects Kristine both with her heritage and the raw materials used in ceramics. Her work primarily focuses on tableware but also non-functional work on occasion. She is a member of the Dusty/Gusty Babes collective that was previously working out of Don Hutchinson's old studio, doing experimental soda firings. Her own studio is located in Hastings-Sunrise neighborhood of Vancouver, BC.

Kristine received her BFA from Concordia University. Since finishing school, she has participated in artist residency programs in Japan, Mexico, and the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts. Her work has been exhibited across North America and published in The Journal of Australian Ceramics. Kristine is also a ceramics educator and currently teaches at the Shadbolt Centre and Just Potters.
All LUPA glazes are made in-house. They are food safe, microwave and dishwasher friendly (though handwashing is recommended for handmade ceramics).
